Philipines importing rice???

I heard it again. We over imported rice during the past few years. Even when they say that millions of poor Filipinos are starving, i do not believe we need to import rice! We have plenty of mismanaged agricultural resources and the point here is for the government to adress the root casue. Importing rice does not solve the problem.. and no one is going to die of hunger if we dont import rice. Hungry people will start to work harder maybe, to be more prudent and stringent maybe. NO ONE IS GOING TO DIE OF HUNGER.

So what's with importing rice??? MONEY. Those greedy businessmen knows there's money in importing rice. It is a simple trade as long as you have government permit. And why would government give permit if they know or at least they have idea that such policy is no good (or did they even think about it)???? The answer is MONEY. This people in the government only think of their commission or "suhol" from this businessmen. You can never rationalise such irresponsible decisions. Much easier for them to consider the easy MONEY than to analyze the problem and come up with permanent long term solution.

All those involved in importing rice... you contributed 10% of this nations corruption.
